INTERMODAL MONTHLY UPDATE

FTR and Gross Transportation Consulting (GTC) have teamed up to provide the transportation and logistics industry with a monthly report covering the North American intermodal situation.

Unlike some other intermodal newsletters, this one is about data...hard industry data organized in a useful way to answer questions and identify key trends, for instance:
  • What are intermodal volume trends by traffic lane?
  • Is intermodal growing in certain markets (international, truckload, LTL) and not others?
  • What are the trends in equipment type and size?
  • Is intermodal market share increasing?
  • What are the trends in imports and exports by port region
  • What are the changes in the freight coming into each major port region?  For instance, how fast is Asia freight increasing into the east coast?
  • What is the outlook for intermodal over the next 3 years? Find a forecast for North American rail revenue loadings by equipment type. The forecasts are segmented by international equipment and domestic equipment with domestic showing splits for Less-than-truckload/parcel/mail, Truckload, container and trailers.
The Intermodal Monthly Update will contain the latest data to answer these questions.

This monthly report provides an overview of the current intermodal environment for the logistics and transportation industry. This report was designed with the busy executive in mind so as to provide you with enough detailed data to make informed decisions while allowing you to get through the publications in a timely fashion.

  • Report is distributed electronically in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format
  • Report is accessible online through our password protected website
